Calculate my move

Start with where and when, then tell us what you are moving.

Step 1

Where, when and how many people?

Enter both postcodes and we will work out the distance.

How many people?

Choose how many people in total. Once you add your items, we recommend a number and show each option's guide price.

Step 2

What are you moving?

Step 3

Stairs, lifts and parking

These change how long the job takes, so telling us now means no surprises on the day.

Add items to see your van size

Our approach

Our estimates include the hard parts.

An estimate that leaves out the stairs or the walk from the van is not a real number. Ours includes them, so it can look higher than some quotes. Better to know now than find out on the day.

  • Every sum is shown. Open "How we worked this out" under your price to see the hours, the rates and what the access adds.
  • A fixed price before you book. We check your details and confirm your price before moving day, so there are no surprises on the day.
  • One move manager, start to finish. One person to call, who arranges your checked driver, keeps you updated and oversees the move.
  • You pay us, not the driver. We only pay the driver once your move is complete.

Van sizes

Van sizes explained

Van names are confusing, and every make is a little different. These are typical sizes. Ask the driver for the exact van they will bring.

How to measure furniture

Take the widest point on each side, including handles, legs and arms. Width is side to side, depth is front to back, and height is floor to the highest point. If something comes apart, such as a bed frame, measure the pieces as they will travel.

Advice

Getting quotes and choosing a driver

Anyone can hire a van and advertise. These are the questions a good driver will be happy to answer.

What a move should cost

Most man-and-van jobs are priced by the hour, often with a 2-hour minimum. The price depends on:

  • the size of van and how many people
  • how long loading and unloading take: stairs, lifts and parking distance
  • driving time, and whether the driver charges for getting to you and back
  • the day: weekends, Fridays and month-ends are usually busiest
  • extras such as taking furniture apart, packing, fuel or congestion charges

Getting quotes you can compare

  1. Send every driver the same list. Have your quote emailed to you, or use "Copy my list".
  2. Ask whether the price is fixed or hourly, and what happens if it takes longer.
  3. Ask what is included: number of people, blankets, straps, taking furniture apart.
  4. Check it includes stairs, lifts and parking at both addresses.
  5. Get it in writing before the day. Be wary of a quote far below the others.

Insurance

Ask for goods in transit cover for your things on the move and public liability cover for damage to property, and how much each covers.

Real reviews

Recent reviews on more than one site, with replies from the driver. Lots of five-star reviews posted on the same day is a warning sign.

A real business

A full name, a business address and a van that matches their photos. You can check a van's MOT history free on GOV.UK.

Fair payment terms

Be careful about paying a large deposit up front, especially in cash or to a personal bank account.

Your move details, items and guide price from the calculator are included automatically, so we only need your contact details.

Checklist

Your moving checklist

4–8 weeks before

  • Use the calculator and get two or three quotes
  • Book your driver and confirm in writing
  • Start clearing out what you will not take
  • Check parking at both addresses; ask the council about a permit or suspension if needed

2–3 weeks before

  • Get boxes and start packing rooms you use least
  • Tell your energy, water, broadband, council tax and bank about your move
  • Set up post redirection
  • Measure doorways at the new home for large furniture

The week before

  • Confirm the time, addresses and price with the driver
  • Defrost the freezer the day before
  • Take apart beds and furniture if you are doing it yourself
  • Label boxes with the room they go to

Moving day

  • Keep an "open first" box: kettle, chargers, toilet roll, bedding, tools
  • Take meter readings at both homes
  • Do a final walk round, including the loft, garden and cupboards
  • Keep documents, keys and valuables with you, not in the van

About us

Started by two brothers with one goal: a move manager who stays with you from start to finish.

Moving home is stressful enough. You don’t know who to trust, you worry about your furniture getting damaged, and if something goes wrong, nobody takes responsibility.

We started Remove All Stress to fix that. We don’t own vans. Instead, we personally choose trusted removal drivers who have shown us their insurance, ID and reviews. You get one move manager to call, we manage the whole move from beginning to end, and we only release payment to the driver once your move is complete and you’re happy.

Instead of just finding you a van, we give you peace of mind.

Who we help

  • People moving home
  • Landlords and estate agents
  • Older people moving or downsizing
  • Probate and house clearances
  • Businesses needing reliable property support

Questions

Good to know

Is it really free?

Yes. The advice, the van calculator and your quote are all free. You only pay if you book your move with us.

Who actually does my move?

A driver from our network who has shown us their insurance, ID and reviews. We arrange the driver, keep you updated and oversee the move, so you deal with us from start to finish.

Who do I pay?

You pay us, not the driver. We hold your payment and only pay the driver once your move is complete.

Is the estimate the final price?

The online figure is a guide based on what you tell us, typical rates and the time your access adds. When you book, we check the details and confirm a fixed price before your move. The more you measure and the more access details you give, the closer the guide will be.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes. Changing or cancelling is free up to 14 days before your booked date. Within 14 days there is a £24 fee (£20 + VAT), and on the day itself £48 (£40 + VAT). This covers the work of arranging your driver or crew. To change or cancel, call or WhatsApp us, or reply to any of our emails.

Why is the price confirmed after I book?

We find the right checked driver or crew for your date first, then confirm your fixed price with you before anything goes ahead. The guide price shows you what to expect.

How accurate is the van size?

It adds up the space your items take and allows room for gaps, because furniture never packs perfectly. It cannot see awkward shapes, so if your result is close to the limit, go one size up or ask us.

Can a van be full by weight before it is full by space?

Yes. Lots of books, tools or appliances can reach a van's weight limit before it looks full. Luton vans often carry around one tonne, but this varies, so tell us if you have a lot of heavy things.

What happens to my details?

Nothing you enter in the calculator leaves this device. We only receive your name and email (and phone, if you give it) when you ask us to email your quote or book your move. Your list clears when you close the page, and "Start a new quote" clears it straight away. We only share them with the driver assigned to your move, and only if you agree, and we only send marketing emails if you tick the separate box. See our privacy notice.
